Circular development in Forest Business Accelerator 2020
Several exciting startup companies in the development of the forest industry's residual products have been included in this year's accelerator. Some examples are fish farming with bio-purification and mealworms that "refine" bio-sludge for nutrition.

Emissions at historically low levels
An improvement project carried out at Obbola paper mill last year, resulted in a dramatic reduction of emissions to the Ume River. Emission levels are still at a very low level after just over a year.

Windpower for sustainability
SCA offers partners an opportunity to build wind power on the Group’s forest land. At the end of 2019, SCA had 485 wind turbines on its forest land with an annual capacity to produce 4,4 TWh. The target of 8 TWh by 2022 will be reached when the ongoing projects are completed.

Resource efficiency is a key aspect of our sustainability work, both in terms of economizing on the use of the Earth’s resources and also for our cost-efficiency. We measure and follow up in our resource management system, RMS.


SCA to invest SEK 460 million in Tunadal port
SCA will invest approximately SEK 460 million in Tunadal port between 2021 and 2024. The investment will encompass a new container port and new cargo handling areas.

Green electricity supply doubles
Multi-million investment in SCA's pulp mill in Östrand makes it the world's largest producer of bleached barley sulphate pulp and more than doubles production capacity, from 430,000 tonnes to 900,000 tonnes.
